Volante is an independent publishing firm, literary agency and speakers bureau, based in the Old Town of Stockholm, Sweden.
Our ambition is to publish works and authors that make a difference, offering unexpected perspectives and challenging conventions. We publish primarily narrative nonfiction, but also works of fiction and children’s books. As of 2026, we are one of the largest nonfiction publishers in Sweden.
Volante was founded by Tobias Nielsén in 2003 and has since then grown to include several imprints. Such as: Bookhouse (management, self-development), Knopp (children), and 8tto (research).
Rights to our titles have been sold to countries such as Brazil, Finland, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, South Korea, UK, and USA. Amongst these Swedish authors are Jonna Bornemark, Micael Dahlen, Martin Gelin, and Sverker Sörlin.
We also work with international bestselling titles, publishing them in Swedish. Some of our bestselling translations are Dave Goulson, Daniel Kahneman, Tim Marshall, Randall Munroe, Cal Newport, and Anne Sverdrup-Thygeson.
The authors and speakers affiliated with us are mainly leading voices in their fields. Some of them are associated with our division SpeakersNet, for international key note speakers. We represent names such as Magnus Lindqvist, Johan Norberg, and Kjell A. Nordström.
